Summary: Despite suggestions to the contrary, there is no statistically significant increase in birth weight in 1,149 erythroblastotic infants of 32 to 40 weeks gestational age, when contrasted with 1,480 normal infants drawn from a similar population. When severely affected infants are contrasted with mildly affected infants, there is again no difference in birth weight demonstrated.
