Special Issue: The Ontology of the Soul in Medieval Arabic Thought.In his Mabāḥith Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī presents a large section on the soul. It shows many direct derivations from Avicennian writings. However, on several occasions al-Rāzī is critical as well regarding certain aspects of the doctrine of the soul of Ibn Sīnā; All this is exposed in detail, while also attention is paid to a few major doctrinal modifications or changes in emphasis in one of al-Rāzī's latest works, i.e. the Maṭālib.status: publishe
