This paper describes the process of transfer of technology from research to its employment by national mapping agencies. Starting with the activities in photogrammetry of OEEPE it leads on to the current wider remit of EuroSDR in spatial data provision, management and delivery. It also reflects on current research challenges in imagery from an information management perspective and summarises the contribution to OEEPE/EuroSDR of Professor Ian Dowman.
