An auto‐collimator as the basis of a measurement system has virtues, but continuous use can cause eyestrain. This note describes the modification of an auto‐collimator for a Tuckerman extensometer to television use. It was found that eyestrain was eliminated, setting up became much more rapid, and that remote measurement became possible.
