The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Domesday System is a large multi-media database. I have adapted and extended it for use as a tool in an interactive learning environment-namely a secondary school geography project. I am investigating the strategies people use as they go about the learning process. A major goal is to individualise the learning process so that each person may experience learning materials presented in a way that matches their learning style competencies (Pask, 1975). A teacher working with students in a class context is fully engaged in the teaching role. It is difficult for teachers in addition to carry out the evaluative and assessment tasks that are required for reflective changes to be made in teaching strategies during class time.
