A case of Boerhaave's Syndrome Is presented in which, despite early diagnosis and seemingly adequate primary repair, secondary leakage from the suture line occurred. Passage of a Celestin tube which tamponaded the leak combined with pleural drainage resulted in healing of the oesophageal tear.
