ABSTRACT Mallada albofacialis sp.n. is described from Queensland and the Northern Territory. A revised key to Australian species of Mallada is presented. M. albofacialis appears closely related to another northern species, M. traviata (Banks). Larvae of M. albofacialis are trash carriers and are recorded feeding on Icerya spp. New distribution records are given for M. traviata .
