S ummary The following paper describes a case of silent renal tumour, presenting with a cutaneous metastasis which had the appearance of an inflammatory lesion. Biopsy of the lesion did not provide a definitive diagnosis. Although disseminated malignancy was known to be present in this patient, the actual primary site of tumour was only found at postmortem.
