Wirksamkeitskontrollen der Desinfektionsmaßnahmen bei Candida ‐bedingter Prothesenstomatitis

Zusammenfassung:  Bei 36 pfegebedürftigen Totalprothesenträgern mit Prothesenstomatitis wurden in der Erstuntersuchung Candida albicans und Candida spec. quantitativ auf der Schleimhaut und auf der Prothesenoberfläche besrimmt. Nach Hygienemaßnahmen über 14 Tage hinweg konnte eine Keimreduktion um 85–95% nachgewiesen werden. Die Kontroll‐untersuchung nach 4 Wochen zeigte einen Wiederanstieg der Keimzahlen um 40–100%. Pflegebedürftige Personen müssen daher im Rahmen der gerostomatologischen Betreuung regeimäßig auf Hefebesiedlung der Schleimhäute kontrolliert werden, um wirksame Bekämpfungsmaßnahmen durchsetzen zu können. Summary:  In 36 persons needing geriatric care and wearing full dentures with a denture stomatitis, Candida albicans and Candida spec. were detected in the first examination on the mucosa and the fitting surface of the denture. After hygienic measures lasting 14 days an 85–95% reduction in fungi was evident. A control examination after 4 weeks showed a 40–100% increase in fungi. Patients, therefore, should be regularly checked with respect to mucosal yeast colonization, within the framework of geriatric patient care. This would ensure effective therapeutic measures.
