Zusammenfassung: Die Verfasser führten Untersuchungen über das Vorkommen von koexistierender Candidiasis and Trichomoniasis des unteren Urogenitaltraktes beim Menschen unter besonderer Berücksichtigung diagnostischer und epidemiologischer Probleme aus. Anhand der durchgeführten Untersuchungen an 3310 Personen wurde festgestellt, daß Infektionen des Urogenitaltraktes mit hefeähnlichen Pilzen der Art C. albicans verhältnismäßig oft bei Personen mit Beschwerden wie auch bei prophylaktisch Untersuchten vorkommen. C. albicans ist die häufigste Ursache pathologischer Veränderungen und den dabei auftretenden Beschwerden. Es wurde außerdem nachgewiesen, daß Mischinfektionen mit hefeähnlichen Pilzen und T. vaginalis verhältnismäßig selten vorkommen. Sie werden häufiger bei Personen mit bestehender Candidiasis als bei prophylaktisch Untersuchten beobachtet. Es wurde ebenfalls festgestellt, daß die Canestenbehandlung bei diesen Fällen erfolglos ist. Summary: The incidence of coexisting infections with yeastlike fungi and vaginal Trichomonas in the human lower urogenital tract was determined. This study was carried out with special regard to some diagnostic and epidemiological problems. On the basis of the results obtained from the group of 3310 people it may be said that infections of the urogenital tract with yeastlike fungi like C. albicans are observed relatively rarely both in people with complains as in those examined prophylactically. Fungi like C. albicans are the most frequent cause of pathologic changes and accompaning complaints. Besides it was shown that mixed infections with yeastlike fungi and Trichomonas are observed comparatively rarely and they are found much more often in patients with candidiasis than in subjects examined prophylactically. It was also found that treating these cases with Canesten is not effective.
