Summary This study deals with the experimental production of mastitis in healthy goats by infusing Cryptococcus neoformans, Candida albicans, C. stellatoidea, C. krusei, C. tropi‐calis, C. pseudotropicalis, C. parapsilosis and C. guilliermondii strains through the teat canal. The clinical symptoms of mastitis appeared in all the goats injected with the fungal strains. Inoculation of penicillin intramammarily prior to giving fungal infection appeared to increase the pathogenicity of fungi.
