Abstract Fourteen landrace piglets were killed in pairs at the age of three days and every week until the oldest pair was 6 weeks old. Their noses were serially sectioned transversely for making microradio‐graphs. The latter were compared with similar sections of decalcified noses. This method enabled us to describe more precisely the topography of the facial bones, especially the nasal conchae and their development in the young piglet.
