Surgical Anatomy of the Lens in different Domestic Animals

An anatomic study of 20 eyes collected from 11 domestic ruminants and nonruminants were fixed in formalin and submitted to an anatomic study. Relationships were made between morphology of the lens and its capsule and the remainder of the eyeball which were considered important in surgical removal of the lens. Summary Twenty eyes were collected fresh and immediately fixed in 10% formalin for a morph9ologic study of the relationship of the lens to the overall all anatomy of the eye in 11 different speices of domestic animals. Relationsips between the weight, volume, axis lenght diameter, of the eyeball and the weight and volume of the lens were determined, as well as thickness of the anterior and posterior lens capsules. Zusammenfassung Chirurgisch‐angewandte Anatomie der Linse bei verschiedenen Haustieren Zwabzug frisch gewonnene Augen wurden unmittelbar in 10% Formalin fixiert, um die Größenverhältnisse der Linse in Beziehung zur Anatomie des Auges bei 11 verschiedenen Haustierarten su studieren. Die Verhäktbusse zwischen Gewicht, Volmen und Achsendurchmesser des Auges einerseits und Gewicht und Volumen der Lines andererseits wurden bestimmt, sowie die Dicke der vorderen und ihnteren Linsenkapsel gemessen. Résumé Anatomie chirurgicale du cristallin chez différents Animaux domestiques Une vingtaine d'yeux dans 11 espèces différentes d'Animaux domestiques ont été prélevés frais et immédiatement fixés au formol à 10% pour uneétude morphologique des rapports entre le cristallin et toute l'anatomie de'oiil, dans son ensemble. On a déterminé les corrélations entre le poids, le volume, le diamètre axial du bulbe de l'oeil d'une part, et le poids et le voulme du cristallin d'autre part, ainsi que l'épaissur des capsules cristalliniennes antérieure et postérieure. Resumen Anatomia quirúrgica del cristalino en diferentes animales domésticos En 11 diferents especies de animales domésticos, se recogieron los ojos un estudio morfológico de las relaciones del cristalino con la anatomía general de los ojos. determinaron el peso, el volumen, la longitud del eje diametral de globo ocular por un lado, y el peso y volumen del cristalion por el otro, asi como el espesor de la cápsula anterior y posterior del mosmo, estableciéndose la relaciones correspondientes.
