Abstract: In the course of routine studies on lectins it was observed that serological activity whether agglutinating or haemolysing is present in all the parts of plants including roots. It is suggested that the serological activity of plants is controlled by some factor, probably genetic, which causes the formation of lectins in somatic and germ cells.
