The relationships between the Allocoeliinae and other chrysidid subfamilies are discussed and the genus Allocoelia Mocsary reviewed. One new species, edneyi is described, capensis minor Mocsary is elevated to species, and nigra Edney is synonymized with trautmanni Brauns.
