ABSTRACT Aeolian processes may cause shoreward tilting of discoidal pebbles in a beach sequence. Subsequent covering by washover, back‐berm, plane‐laminated sand may give a spurious indication of palaeo‐sea position unless a regional sedimentological analysis is undertaken.
