SUMMARY The model described in part I is tested against concentration profiles of calcium, phosphate and pH measured in thin sections of a soil block in contact with a dissolving layer of DCPD. The soil parameters required by the model are also measured, and the major assumptions of the model discussed in view of the findings. The close agreement between the predicted and experimental profiles shows that all important processes have been accounted for in the model. These would have to be included in models of the dissolution of granular DCPD in soil.
