SUMMARY A case of localized cutaneous amyloidosis which developed after a lichen planus‐like skin reaction is reported. The amyloid consisted of amyloid fibrils enveloped by heparan sulphate granules. These amyloid fibrils reacted to anti‐human keratin antibody, indicating an epidermal origin for the fibrils.
