SUMMARY Using a high‐pressure liquid chromatographic technique, plasma psoralen levels have been measured in patients receiving total‐body topical photochcmothcrapy (PUVA). Levels comparable with those found during oral 8‐methoxypsoralen (8‐MOP) treatment were observed, suggesting that topical therapy has no advantage over the oral route as far as the hazards of systemic therapy are concerned.
