SUMMARY The lymphocytic infiltrate of lichen planus was studied by the identification of the human T lymphocyte antigen in frozen tissue sections using specific anti‐human T lymphocytes antigen antiserum. The infiltrate was shown to be composed principally of T lymphocytes.
