The Corvidae in the Sudan Republic, with special reference to Darfur

Summary Of the ten corvid species described for the Afrotropical region, seven are recorded for the Republic of the Sudan and four for the province of Darfur. The literature on the Corvidae in the Sudan is reviewed up to 1955, after which no records appear to be available. The results of field studies in Darfur during 1976 and 1977, with respect to distribution and abundance, group size, seasonal movements, breeding, dimensions and food are given. RÉSUMEÉ Parmi les dix especes de corvidés de la région Afrotropicale, sept sont signalées en République du Soudan et quatre dans la province de Dafur. Ide littérature traitant des Corvidés au Soudan est revue jusq'en 1955, aprés quoi aucune donnée ne semble plus disponible. On donne les résultats des études de terrain au Dafur en 76 et 77, au respectivement, la distribution, l'abondance, la taille des groupes, les déplacements saisonniers, la reproduction, les dimensions et la nourriture.
