SUMMARY The presence of an anomalous left azygos vein in a rabbit is described and the origin of the azygos and hemiazygos veins discussed, with reference to the possible origin of this anomaly. In another specimen an abnormal development of the systemic arches is described and the probable origin of the anomaly discussed.
