Young European eels were exposed to β‐naphthoflavone (βNF). The CYP1A1 mRNA hepatic levels, measured by real‐time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, were correlated to the concentration of βNF and the time of exposure so that it can be used as a biomarker of European eel exposure to a CYP1A1 inducer.
