A new species Schizostachyum diaoluoshanense N. H. Xia, L. L. Zhang et R. S. Lin sp. nov. (Poaceae–Bambusoideae) is described and illustrated from Diaoluo Shan, Hainan, China. The new species is closely related to S. pseudolima , but differs by shorter internodes, florets 1–4, palea apex of fertile florets equally 2‐keeled, and keels up to 2 mm long. A key to the new species and its allies is provided.
