The well known molecular drawing program, PLUTO 78, has been made more widely available in the UK by mounting it on the minicomputers of the Joint Academic Network (JANET) wide‐area network. Enhancements include interaction, faster plotting, use of colour and simulated half tone, easy access to centrally maintained high‐quality‐output devices, and the provision of comprehensive documentation in the form of on‐line help and a user manual.
