The goal of this paper is to present a test method used to characterize the damage effect of the hypervelocity-KE rod to the earth. Firstly, according to the numerical simulation results, the damage effect and their characterization parameters is carried out when the hypervelocity-KE rod impacts the Earth. And then the test methods for these characterization parameters are brought forward one by one in theory. Finally, by the test methods, the data from the damage effect of the 100kg hypervelocity-KE rod to the Earth are achieved. The content in this paper would benefit for the research on the KE weapon.
