Atrophie blanche: a review from the perspective of a 31 patient cohort

This article combines review of the distinctive healing pattern most commonly known as atrophie blanche with some previously unpublished observations from perhaps the largest patient cohort reported. A pragmatic approach to this painful, chronic, ulcerative and scarring disorder of the lower limbs is taken. Emphasis is placed on examination of the patient once the clinical pattern is diagnosed. Treatment is also from a very practical approach, with literature references given for the various strategies.
