To improve the sensitivity of detection of Prune dwarf virus (PDV) in peach trees, the immunocapture‐reverse transcription‐polymerase chain reaction combined with nested PCR (IC‐RT‐PCR nested PCR) was modified. The nested PCR substantially improved PDV detection compared with double antibody sandwich‐ELISA. Both assays use the same tissue extracts.
