Summary A necrosis of leaves of Quercus pubescens caused by the fungus Ulocladium chartarum is reported. This fungus causes leaf spots both under natural conditions and following artificial inoculation of unwounded attached leaves. A high incidence of leaf spotting by U. chartarum seems to be associated with wet summers.
