In the paper [ Hall , 1968] I made the statement that ‘The Boussinesq equation is nonlinear and difficult to solve exactly.’ Dr. S. Irmay (personal communication) has recently presented a number of exact solutions in one published work [ Bear et al. , 1968] and in the Proceedings of the Wageningen 1966 Symposium, which should soon be available. Other solutions may be found in works by Aravin and Humeroy [1965] and Ernst [1962]. Also, I did not see an interesting paper on base flow by Isihara and Takagi [1965] until after the paper was submitted. Finally a reference to a paper in abstract form only by Singh [1968] should be updated.
