We present the first observations of a vortex street in an atmosphere other than that of the Earth made from a sequence of images of Saturn taken by Voyager 2 in August 1981. The analysis of these images shows that the feature sits at the maximum of the westward jet and suggests that it may be produced by material rising up from below the level of the visible clouds.
