Positive correlation between FDG uptake and sensorimotor SBR (corrected for cognitive SBR) was observed in bilateral visual association Cortex (Fig. 1). Conclusions: These findings confirm that altered cerebral glucose metabolism is associated with nigrostriatal degeneration in PD. The association between metabolism and nigrostriatal degeneration in the cognitive part of the striatum is in line with known cortico-striatal connections.
