Background: The only study involving a nationally representative sample to estimate dementia prevalence in Colombia has been the EPINEURO. This was a population-based survey of a stratified random sample of urban and rural residents of five regions of Colombia. The purpose of this paper was to estimate the number of people suffering from dementia and in particular Alzheimer's disease (AD) in Colombia by severity stage.Objetive:
to evaluate the association between
maternal age and prevalence of congenital defects
(CD) in a third level hospital in Cali, Colombia.
Materials and methods:
cross-sectional study
was developed based on data collected by the CD
system records the Hospital Universitario del Valle
(HUV), Cali, Colombia, between 2004 and 2008.
It included all births in the period and determined
the type of CD, socio-demographic variables of
