variant of AD groups, whereas suchmutations are rare or nonexistent in pure AD and control groups. Therefore, GBA appears to be a genetic risk factor for LBD. To replicate these genetic associations, future studies will need to include larger samples of subjects with pathologically confirmed LBD. If these associations are replicated, investigations focused on cognitive impairment and the loss-of-function of GBAwill be warranted.
