behavioural and psychological symptoms in the NPI. Results: In our study, we identified two principal components in NPI: (1) depression, agitation/aggressivity, delusion and sleep; (2) irritability, desinhibition, anxiety, appetite, hallucinations. Caregiver’s burden was associated with factor 1 and caregiver’s depression with factor 2. Conclusions: These results support the validity of a model that includes factor’s caregiver as determinants of BPSD. A better understanding of this relationship may help practitioners implement specific interventions with caregivers to improve patient and caregiver well-being.
