independent. With a maximum transformed score of 30, it helps in deciding whether cognitive performance is age-adequate (18-30 points), or whether mild cognitive dysfunction (15-17 points) or dementia (0-14 points) should be suspected. Discrimination analysis revealed high classification rates for the PANDA with a sensitivity of 80% and a specificity of 100% for control subjects versus demented PD patients. When comparing non-demented and demented PD patients the sensitivity and specificity were 83% and 80%, respectively. Conclusion: The PANDA is efficient in detecting cognitive dysfunction and dementia in PD patients and in differentiating the two states. With its short and easy administration, it is a useful screening tool for clinical practice.
