Abstract Carboxylic acids containing the dichlorocyclopropane ring system react with lithium naphthalene to give dechlorinated products. For example, from the reaction of 9,10‐dichloromethylene octadecanoic acid and lithium naphthalene, a mixture of 9,10‐nonadecadienoic acid as a main product and unidentified minor products were obtained.
