A suitably defined PDF is set up for the statistical treatment of a liquid spray dispersed in a gaseous carrier phase. The formulation is full in the sense that the PDF allows for the mathematical description of the totality of all liquid‐ phase an gas‐phase variables. The evolution of this PDF in time is governed by a PDF transport equation, which is modelled and solved via a Monte‐Carlo method. The numerical results clearly indicate the usefulness of the method for laminar and turbulent reacting flows.
