The results of mathematical and experimental investigations of a multi‐body‐system in the form of a symmetric deformable parallelogram are presented. The system has friction affected constraints and possesses equilibrium zones. Under permanently acting disturbances the system migrates inside the equilibrium zones. In order to predict the system behaviour direction elements, direction fields and shifting tendency functions are defined. The computed results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
