Using the fundamental solution method developed in [1], [2], in this paper a novel theory of the oscillating wing in sonic flow is given. An integral equation is obtained which has the advantage that its exact solutions are known in certain cases. One of these cases concerns the rectangular wing of low aspect ratio and is dealt with in the last section.
