In a permeable circular cylindrical tube with constant suction across the wall the constant radial flow velocity at the wall is suddenly changed to another constant value. The transient flow behavior, such as the velocity‐, stress‐ and pressure distribution are presented analytically. Many special cases of interest to engineering and biological processes may be obtained.
