In this paper a new conception of derivation of macroscopic constitutive equations of quasihomogeneous materials is presented. The macroscopic equations are derived from the constitutive equations of the material constituents, their volume fractions and a simplified description of the influence of the micro‐geometry of composition. The general relations are applied to viscoelastic and elastic‐plastic materials. A two‐phase viscoelastic material and a two‐phase elastic‐plastic material are analysed as examples.
