Abstract In this paper a direct method for solving problems of certain thin elastic plates having curvilinear boundaries and rotating steadily about normal axes is developed. To illustrate the method the problem of a rotating thin plate having a regular curvilinear polygonal boundary, in general, is solved. Discussions of the corresponding problems of thin plates with some simpler types of boundaries are given in detail.
