Abstract A 3D coordination polymer [Cd 3 (btrc) 2 (L1) 2 ] n ( 1 ) [H 3 btrc = 1, 2, 4‐benzenetricarboxylic acid; L1 = 1, 4‐bis(1‐imidazolyl)butane] was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Single crystal X‐ray diffraction study revealed that polymer 1 presents an unusual example of a trinodal (4, 6)‐connected net with (4 4 · 6 2 )(4 4 · 6 10 · 8) fsc topology. In addition, this polymer was investigated by IR and luminescence spectroscopy, as well as thermogravimetric analyses.
