Foldable display has attracted more and more attention due to its light weight and deformable property. However, there is no mass production for foldable display so far, this is mainly because there are lots of technical challenges such as fracture of brittle layer, failure of thin film encapsulation and so on. In this paper, the technical challenge of foldable display is discussed systematically. Then improvement method was used to improve the mechanical reliability of the foldable display. The influence factor of metal line and the failure mechanism of OLED/TFE device were both studied.
