We have developed foldable ultra‐thin LCD using colorless polyimide substrates with low birefringence by the coat‐debond fabrication method. We clarified that the polymer walls structure is important to stabilize a cell thickness in a curved state and successfully achieved thin foldable LC device with small curvature radius less than 3mm.
