Abstract 6‐ and 8‐prenylated flavanones were distinguishable from each other by means of their fast‐atom bombardment (FAB) spectral patterns, while the corresponding electron ionization spectral patterns were very similar to each other. It was suggested that 6‐ and 8‐prenylated flavonoids can, in general, be distinguished by means of FAB.
