A novel numerical model is devised to describe the decomposition kinetics in metastable binary alloys with a positive pair exchange parameter. The stochastic process of nucleation and growth of precipitates is simulated on grounds of a novel cluster‐dynamical model, which for a description of the later stages is linked to a deterministic model. The discussion of the precipitation kinetics in a Cu ‐Co type alloy yields the interpretation of kinetic experiments in terms of classical theories to be inadequate.
