EPR of Er 3+ ions in polycrystalline ThH 2 and Th 4 H 15 is studied and the possibility of the Kondo effect in ThH 2 is discussed. In Th 4 H 15 electron bottleneck is observed. The lineshape calculation is made for a metallic system in the case of an axial crystalline field. It is shown that in the point charge approximation a proton model is realized in Th 4 H 15 .
