The stability of the strongly ferromagnetic ground state in the Hubbard model for U → ∞ is investigated, using the Hubbard alloy analogy result. In this approximation the saturated ferromagnetic state is not stable for a nearly half‐filled band. In fact, for n < 1, only the paramagnetic solution exists.
